Construction and Materials
JSI Cabinetry offers a range of kitchen cabinets designed for durability and aesthetic appeal. The construction of JSI cabinets emphasizes quality materials and robust assembly techniques to ensure longevity.
Construction Features:
- Framed Construction: Many JSI cabinet lines feature framed construction, where a solid wood frame is attached to the front of the cabinet box. This provides structural integrity and a traditional cabinet appearance.
- Full-Extension Drawer Slides: Drawers are typically equipped with full-extension ball-bearing drawer slides. These allow the drawer to be pulled out completely, providing full access to the contents and smooth operation.
- Soft-Close Hinges and Slides: To enhance user experience and prevent slamming, JSI cabinets often incorporate soft-close technology on both drawer slides and door hinges.
- Dovetail Drawer Construction: Drawer boxes are commonly constructed using a dovetail joint method, known for its strength and interlocking design, ensuring durability even with heavy use.
- Plywood Construction: The cabinet boxes themselves are generally constructed from multi-ply hardwood plywood. This material offers superior strength and stability compared to particleboard or MDF, resisting warping and bowing.
- Solid Wood Doors and Drawer Fronts: The visible exterior components, such as doors and drawer fronts, are typically made from solid hardwood. This provides a premium look and feel and allows for various finishing techniques.
Materials Used:
- Cabinet Boxes: High-quality multi-ply hardwood plywood is the standard material for cabinet interiors and structures, ensuring a durable and stable foundation.
- Drawer Boxes: Solid hardwood is used for drawer construction, often utilizing dovetail joinery for exceptional strength and longevity.
- Doors and Drawer Fronts: Various hardwoods are utilized for doors and drawer fronts, selected for their grain patterns and ability to accept finishes beautifully.
- Hardware: Hinges and drawer slides are made from durable metals, often featuring integrated soft-close mechanisms.
- Finishes: JSI cabinets are available in a variety of finishes, including paints and stains, applied to enhance the natural beauty of the wood and provide protection.

Frame Options
JSI Cabinetry offers a selection of frame options designed to complement various kitchen aesthetics. These frame styles dictate the overall visual character and construction of your cabinets, influencing the perceived door size and the degree of reveal around the door and drawer fronts.
Frame Options
- Frameless (European Style): In this construction, the cabinet box itself is the primary structural element, and the doors and drawer fronts are attached directly to the face of the box. This design maximizes interior storage space and provides a clean, minimalist look. Frameless cabinets typically offer a more modern aesthetic.
- Face Frame (American Style): This traditional cabinet construction features a solid wood frame attached to the front of the cabinet box. The doors and drawer fronts are then mounted to this face frame. The face frame itself is visible, creating a distinct border around each door and drawer. This style is often associated with a more classic or traditional kitchen design.
Hardware
JSI Cabinetry offers a curated selection of hardware designed to complement their diverse range of kitchen cabinetry. These hardware options are crucial for both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of your kitchen design, providing essential touchpoints that can elevate the overall look and feel of your JSI cabinets.
While JSI Cabinetry primarily focuses on the cabinetry itself, their design philosophy extends to the finishing touches. The hardware you choose will interact directly with the doors and drawers of your JSI cabinets, and careful consideration of style, finish, and proportion is key to achieving a cohesive and personalized kitchen environment. The selection of hardware can dramatically alter the perceived style of your JSI cabinetry, ranging from classic and traditional to sleek and contemporary.
